KIDAPAWAN CITY - A broadcaster, who previously sought police protection after getting death threats, was gunned down on Wednesday in Tacurong City in the southern Philippine province of Sultan Kudarat, police said.
It said Jaynard Angeles, former station manager of Radyo ni Juan, was shot in the head by one of two gunmen at a car shop in New Carmen village who escaped after the shooting.
The motive for the murder is still unknown, but Angeles had previously sought protection from the police after receiving death threats from unknown individuals when he was working at the radio station.
No individual or groups claimed responsibility for the killing, but media groups condemned the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
