MAYOR BENG Climaco congratulated the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) for topping the 2021 Crime Solution Efficiency (CSE) and Crime Clearance Efficiency (CCE) in the country.

The ZCPO was adjudged as Number One based on the Philippine National Police’s Unit Crime Periodic Efficiency Report (UCPER) for the period January to December 2021. The ZCPO

achieved a rating of 98.84% for index crimes solution and 99.39% for non-index crimes solution and bested all other police offices nationwide. 

With ZCPO having the highest CSE means that almost all crimes committed last year were solved with suspects arrested and cases filed in court. The ZCPO also has the highest CCE which means that cases for crimes committed were filed in court. 

“We recognize the leadership and dedication of Maj. Elmer Solon, the chief of the ZCPO Investigation and Detection and Management Unit, which is instrumental in achieving the overall UCPER proficiency rating for 2021. Solon’s hardwork of personally supervising the conduct of case build-up and follow-up investigation of cases to ensure the early resolution of cases greatly contributed to this achievement,” said Climaco. 

“Once again congratulations to the men and women of the ZCPO. The City Government is very proud of you and assures continuous support and assistance for the protection and safety of our people,” she added. 

Climaco said the security of Zamboanga and its people remains one of her top priorities. 

“With security as a priority, our administration has provided the biggest-ever allocation for security in the history of Zamboanga City that led to improved business climate with zero bombing, zero kidnapping and zero piracy incident over the last 7 years,” the mayor said. 

Col. Alexander Lorenzo, the local acting police chief, said: “These achievements would not be victorious without the steadfast leader and results-oriented personnel. Teamwork makes a dream come true. By working together, we can build an impactful result.” (Zamboanga Post)
