MAYOR BENG Climaco reassured local residents affected by natural calamities or man-made disasters that her administration - now on its final leg - will continue helping them and even beyond if she wins as congresswoman in the May polls.
She renewed her pledge as
the local government rolled out anew various assistance to families in crisis
situation.

Just this month, Climaco, who is on her third and last term, led the distribution of cash assistance to nearly 400 families displaced by a recent fire in Barangay Calarian and victims of Typhoon Odette (Rai) in December.
Climaco said the cash
assistance is intended to help alleviate the plight of the fire and typhoons
victims. Barangay Calarian officials led by Chairperson Flor Arcillas thanked
the mayor for the assistance given to over 100 families displaced by the fire.
More than 200 families in
Barangay Labuan affected by the typhoon received financial aid – P5,000 for
those whose houses were totally damaged and P3,000 for partially damaged
houses.
The cash aid were on top
of the thousands of people, including Covid-19 survivors, who benefited from
the Local Social Amelioration Program which is continuing following the
declaration of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. (Zamboanga Post)
