Mayor Beng Climaco provided financial aid to dozens of health workers in the frontline of the government’s Covid-19 response. The mayor distributed the special risk allowance released by the Department of Health as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte.
She said the
continuing state of public health emergency warrants the further grant of the
allowance to health care workers in recognition of their heroic and invaluable
contributions in the government’s fight against Covid-19.
The mayor
said health workers bravely and unselfishly risk their lives by being at the forefront
of national efforts to respond to the pandemic. She said Rep. Jawo Jimenez is
also working for the release of other allowances like PhilHealth benefits for
other frontliners.
Aside from
the health workers, Climaco said Covid-19 survivors are also provided with
financial assistance under the Social Amelioration Program. The mayor, assisted
by Jimenez and members of the City Council, also provided cash assistance to
senior citizens and food aid to residents in different barangays the past
months. (Zamboanga Post)
