THE QUEZON City government will conduct Covid-19 rapid antigen tests on Bar examinees, staff, and volunteers to ensure that the examination, set February 4 and 6, will not be a super spreader event.
A 20-man team will conduct the antigen test at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Human Kinetics gym on Wednesday for the examinees while staff and volunteers will have their turn the following day.
There are 756 examinees and 350 personnel in UP, one of the testing sites in the first Bar exam to be held in multiple venues.
“We share the same goal with them and that is to ensure the safety of the examinees and the success of the examinations,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said in a statement on Tuesday.
Based on initial discussions, the Supreme Court will provide the test kits while the QC Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit will oversee the testing process.
Anyone who will yield positive results for Covid-19 will be assessed if for home or facility-based quarantine.
The QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the QC Fire District will also set up tents at the UP campus while the Task Force for Transport and Traffic Management will surround the immediate vicinity on the two examination dates.
The Supreme Court reset the Bar exam from its previous schedule on January 23 and 25 after some examinees and exam personnel contracted Covid-19 or had to quarantine. (Marita Moaje
