ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives arrested five drug suspects and seized from them suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP544 million in separate buy-bust operations in Cavite early Thursday, an official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon said two of the five, identified as Dominador Robasto Omega Jr. and Siegfred Omega Garcia, were arrested at about 8 a.m. in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
PDEA and Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives recovered 60 kg. of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP408 million, a butane stove, cooking equipment, gallons of unknown chemicals, rectangular plastic containers with white crystalline substance, an air purifier (used for concealment), various drug paraphernalia, cellphone, and identification cards.
The two will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while the pieces of evidence seized in the operation were brought to PDEA for documentation.
In another operation, authorities seized 20 kg. of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP136 million from Elaine Maningas, Ricardo Santillan, and Laurel de la Rosa in General Trias, Cavite at about 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Also seized were a PHP1,000 bill used as boodle money, four android phones, two analog phones, and identification cards. (Christopher Lloyd Caliwan)
