SIX OUT of the presidential candidates in the May 9 polls, including President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., have already submitted their respective Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs).
As of Wednesday afternoon, the deadline of the one-month filing period, former Manila mayor Francisco Domagoso was the latest presidential candidate that filed his SOCE.
The other aspirants who have earlier submitted their SOCE were senator Panfilo Lacson, Dr. Jose Montemayor, Vice President Leni Robredo, and senator Manny Pacquiao.
Other presidential candidates who have yet to file their SOCE are labor leader Leody de Guzman, businessman Faisal Mangondato, former presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella, and former national security adviser Norberto Gonzales.
On the other hand, the vice presidential candidates that have so far filed their SOCEs are Dr. Willie Ong, Lito Atienza, Senate President Tito Sotto, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Walden Bello, and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte.
Based on her SOCE, the presidential daughter has spent all campaign contributions that she received which amounted to PHP216.19 million.
The in-kind contributions amounting to PHP136.6 million came from her political party, Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats while another PHP79.58 million worth of in-kind donations came from other sources.
Under the law, candidates for president and vice president may spend PHP10 per registered voter, while other candidates are allowed to spend PHP3 per registered voter.
Independent candidates are allowed to spend PHP5 for every registered voter during the campaign.
Meanwhile, the winning senatorial candidates that have filed their SOCEs are Loren Legarda, Sherwin Gatchalian, Chiz Escudero, Mark Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Jinggoy Estrada, and Robin Padilla. (Ferdinand Patinio)
