COTABATO CITY —To maintain and support a comprehensive, adequate, and integrated high school science system for learners in the region, Bangsamoro Parliament Member Engr. Aida Silongan proposed a bill seeking to create Bangsamoro Science High School (BSHS).
Proposed Bill No. 203, also known as
the “Bangsamoro Science High School Act of 2022,” will offer a free scholarship
to qualified learners in the region interested in pursuing a career in science.
Through the Ministry of Science and
Technology, the bill ensures that BSHS meets or exceeds the standards of the
current Philippine Science High School System and integrates values education
to fortify the foundation of both science and faith in the lives of students in
the region.
Under the proposed measure, the BSHS
will be established in Parang, Maguindanao.
The bill also proposed establishing
a Board of Trustees chaired by the Minister of Science and Technology and
co-chaired by the Minister of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education, with
members including the President of Mindanao State University System, the Campus
Director of BSHS, the President of the BSHS Alumni Association, and a private
