'Nalgae' inundates Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Zamboanga City, many villages were flooded as tens of thousands of people fled the rampaging floods.

The local government reported rivers overflowed and rip rap walls damaged.

Power was out since Friday in many areas, but communication lines and access to the Internet remain.

It was the worst flooding in 20 years. Many roads were impassable due to the high water. Emergency and military and police rescuers in trucks and rubber boats were spotted in villages worst hit by the typhoon.

Villagers affected by flash floods had been evacuated to temporary shelters and provided food packs by the local government. (Mindanao Examiner)
