AT LEAST 10 AirSWIFT flights between Manila and El Nido and from Busuanga were canceled on Thursday due to inclement weather, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said.
The canceled flights are: T6 126/127, T6 142/143, T6 146/147 Manila-El Nido-Manila; T6 114, T6 122 Manila-El Nido; T6 149 El Nido-Manila; and T6 543 Busuanga-Manila.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) earlier forecast the low-pressure area (LPA) and southwest monsoon to cause rains over most parts of the country.
As of 11 a.m., the weather bureau said the LPA is likely to develop into a tropical depression within 48 hours.
Heavy rainfall is expected over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Aurora, Isabela and Cagayan on Thursday, it said. ( Ma. Cristina Arayata)
