CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) underscored the important role of the business sector in the fight against red tape and corruption.
Sec. Ernesto Perez, ARTA Director General, said
they can be effective in the implementation of their programs and initiatives
if they work together with the business sector, which has real experience on
the ground and can validate the reports of government agencies in terms of rendering
services to the citizenry.
"We have shown this, as proven by history,
that we can only improve our economy and achieve whatever we want to achieve as
a nation if we work together and get the support of the private sector,"
he said.
As such, ARTA is partnering with members of the
business sector to capacitate them to become anti-red tape champions in their
respective communities.
ARTA recently signed a memorandum of understanding
with the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc.
designating some of Oro Chamber members as ARTA champions.
ARTA champions are empowered to receive complaints
concerning Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient
Government Service Delivery Act of 2018. They also have the responsibility to
help promote and raise awareness of the said Act and other anti-red tape
initiatives.
During the signing, the ARTA czar thanked the Oro
Chamber for collaborating with them and gave assurance that his office will act
fast on the complaints endorsed to them as long as these complaints are
duly validated.
"Our mission is to transform the way
government services are rendered through public-private partnerships,
technology, and good regulatory practices toward bureaucratic efficiency. Help
us achieve this mission," he implored members of the Oro Chamber.
Before the MoU signing with the Oro Chamber, Perez
led the opening of the ARTA Northern Mindanao's new Regional Field Office
located at the National Food Authority Building in Cagayan de Oro City. (APB)
