ZAMBOANGA CITY - A 17-year old student who was reported missing here was found dead on Wednesday afternoon at a bushy area in a village in the southern Filipino city of Zamboanga.
Loella Jaganas Acaylar, a Grade 11 student at the Culianan National Highschool, failed to come home Tuesday, July 25, after she went to a friend's house to return a dress she borrowed. Acaylar's family confirmed the girl's identity.
Police said the body of Acaylar was discovered by civilians in the village of Pasobolong. Her bags and other personal items were also found near the body. It was not immediately known whether the victim was raped or not until the results of the post-mortem examination are completed.
Acaylar's body had contusions, according to the police. Her family did not release any statement and police are investigating the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
