Women's groups get funds from OVP's livelihood program

THE BUSINESS  and entrepreneurship projects of three women's organizations were reinforced after getting financial assistance from Vice President Sara Duterte’s Mag Negosyo Ta 'Day (MTD) program.

In a news release on Wednesday, Duterte recognized the Philippine Federation of Local Councils of Women (PFLCW), Inc.; Kusog Kabababayen-an Dipolog City; and the Hugpong ng Kababainhan sa Montevista, Davao de Oro in their contributions to the women's sector.

Each group received funds worth PHP150,000.

She also praised PFLCW for its active participation and collaboration with the national government in promoting the welfare of women.

"Talagang kapuri-puri rin ang PFLCW sa kanilang pagtutulungan upang pagtagumpayan ang mga hamon ng digitalization, at bilang katuwang ng national government sa pagtaguyod ng kapakanan ng mga kababaihan, at paghanap ng mga paraan para sa ikakaunlad ng sektor (The PFLCW is really commendable on their collaboration to overcome the challenges of digitalization, and as a partner of the national government in pushing for the welfare of women, and finding ways for the success of the sector)," Duterte said in the recent PFLCW’s 18th General Assembly held in Heritage Manila Hotel, Pasay City.

“Hand in hand, I am optimistic that we will be able to welcome more women who will be proactive players in digital transformation. Together, let us march towards a stronger nation and more empowered citizenry.”

The MTD program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) aims to provide more jobs and livelihood for Filipinos, especially women and LGBTQI+ members.

It also empowers interested individuals or groups on how to properly manage businesses and receive a starting capital for their desired venture.

Other organized groups can also avail of the MTD program by getting in touch with the OVP. (Wilnard Bacelonia)
