ZAMBOANGA CITY - Police seized over P9 million worth of crystal meth and arrested two people in separate undercover sting operations in Zamboanga City and in the town of Dumalinao in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, officials said Saturday.
Officials said some 1.3 kilos of meth was seized from Adus Janaidi Aming, 43, in the coastal village of Maasin on Friday afternoon following a carefully hatched operation involving 14 police units. This was confirmed by Brig. Gen. Neil Alinsangan, the regional police commander.
He said the second operation resulted in the arrest Friday evening of Nashrodin Ploma Pido, 20, where undercover cops confiscated some 200 grams of meth worth some P1.36 million in Dumalinao town. The drug sting was participated in by eight different police units, including the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group.
“I laud the operatives of PNP...this is a back-to-back accomplishment of Police Regional Office 9. These accomplishments are the result of our relentless efforts against the proliferation of illegal drugs in Zamboanga Peninsula and exemplifies the strong inter-agency cooperation between PDEA and PNP in Zamboanga Peninsula. Hand in hand, we work together to eradicate the drug menace in Zamboanga Peninsula,” he said. (Mindanao Examiner)
