COTABATO CITY - In a bid to bolster the planning, coordinating, and monitoring of all development plans, policies, programs, and projects of the Bangsamoro Government, the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) is proposing an 82.11% increase from its previous budget.
The P206.05 million budget proposal for 2024 is currently being scrutinized by the Bangsamoro Parliament’s Committee on Finance, Budget, and Management Subcommittee H, chaired by Atty. Ubaida Pacasem.
According to Engr. Mohajirin Ali, BPDA director general, the substantial increase in the budget will be used for programs on socio-economic development planning; socio-economic planning and policies development; investment programming; research development and knowledge management; and monitoring and evaluation.
During the budget hearing, the agency’s accomplishments; how the budget was utilized in the previous and current years; and the significant activities of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) including its sectoral and special committees were thoroughly reviewed and scrutinized.
BPDA serves as the counterpart of the National Economic
Development Authority in the Bangsamoro region and acts as the technical
