ZAMBOANGA CITY – A small time reseller of food products has accused a “Mr B Processed Food Products Wholesaling (Mr Gourmet Bangus)” based in Davao City for failing to refund her some P2,700 for the shipment of staled and mostly broken bottles of Spanish style milkfish she ordered online.
The complainant said she placed
the order for a box of 24 bottles of Mr Gourmet Bangus and paid P2,700 through
GCash 0951-0171460 under the name of Jhudy Claire D. Molles.
Molles even tried to convince the buyer to get another box of 24 bottles, saying she will use the payment to purchase fresh fish from the market.
But the problems began after J&T only shipped the order on Dec. 5 and received in Zamboanga by the buyer on Dec. 9 – the box was all stained with oil due to the broken bottles of Mr Gourmet Bangus and the bottles were leaking with oil and there were many maggots which accumulated in the box of the stenched product. Molles blamed the courier for mishandling the product but at the same time admitted that other customers who bought her Mr Gourmet Bangus also had similar cases and also demanded refund.
Photos were sent to Molles and
the buyer demanded a refund. Molles promised to return the payment many times
since December, but eventually ignored all succeeding demands of refund.
The buyer said she will file a complaint with the Department of Trade in Davao City to compel Molles to refund the payment for the products. She also warned unsuspecting resellers to be wary of the suppliers of food products so as not to fall victim to unreliable food manufacturers. (Mindanao Examiner)
