MANILA - President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. hailed the signing of alliance between his Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats Alliance headed by House Speaker Martin Romualdez ahead of next year’s midterm polls.
Called ‘Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas’, the alliance, according to Marcos, aims to uplift the lives of the Filipino people under a unified “Bagong Pilipinas.”
Marcos said the PFP-Lakas-CMD alliance
is a significant moment for Philippine politics and public service as it would
propel the country towards the country’s transformation.
“We mark today a significant moment
not just for Philippine politics, but also for the field of public service, as
members of both parties formalize and build an alliance that will propel our
country towards the Bagong Pilipinas that we envision,” he said.
Marcos was the guest of honor during
the recent signing of the alliance attended by around 300 PFP and Lakas-CMD
members.
Marcos said he was encouraged by the
overwhelming support of the Filipinos during the 2022 presidential elections.
He said he won with 31 million votes, a testament of the Filipino’s faith not
only in the promise to deliver better public service, but also in their vision
to build a better Philippines.
“Ito naman ay nakita natin na tanggap
na tanggap ng taumbyan ang ating mensahe tungkol sa pagkakaisa. At bukod pa
dun, noong tayo’y matagumpay na sa ating kampanya, ipinagpatuloy natin ‘yung
ating pagkakaisa dahil nasimulan natin ‘yung tinatawag natin na
whole-of-government approach,” Marcos said.
Under the whole-of-government
approach, Marcos said all government agencies are now working with one another
along with the legislative and executive branches of the government in what he
called transformative politics.
Marcos also asked party members to
organize and strengthen the party as it gears up for the midterm elections,
keeping in mind that the best way to do it is to provide the best service to
the people. And for the party to succeed, it has to be very organized, with the
members maintaining constant communication with one another, he said.
“So, there's no way around it. We
still have to do it. We still have to do the work. We still have to fight hard.
There is no easy election. That is something that I’ve learned. That is why we
have to be very well organized, that we have to be in constant communication
with one another so that we know what’s going on and at the very beginning,
trabaho ito ng ating leadership ng ating Partido. Magkaroon tayo ng magandang
plano hindi lamang para sa national, kundi para sa lahat ng LGU, para lahat. Sa
mga distrito ng mga Congressman na kasama natin,” he said.
Marcos said the party’s next move is
to organize a steering committee and then forge alliances with the different
parties, he said. He added he has received positive feedback from other parties
willing to partner with PFP. (Mindanao
