PhilHealth celebrates 29th anniversary, thanks partners and stakeholders

ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recently celebrated its 29th anniversary and thanked its partners and stakeholders for their continue support as it vows to intensify further the promotion of the agency’s “Konsulta Package” (Konsulta or Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama) to reach more Filipinos nationwide especially those in far-flung areas.

“Konsulta or Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama” is PhilHealth’s expanded primary care benefits package which pays for free consultations, health screening and assessment, and any of the 15 laboratory tests and 21 drugs and medicines as needed by the patient and as prescribed by their Konsulta Package Providers of choice.

The PhilHealth regional office also awarded The Mindanao Examiner regional newspaper for its support in furthering the promotion of its various healthcare accessibility and benefits during the event held at the Astoria Regency Hotel here.

“The event aims to express our heartfelt gratitude to our valued stakeholders, partners and dedicated individuals who have contributed to the success of mission of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation,” said Paolo Johann C. Perez, PhilHealth’s regional vice president, in a letter to the Mindanao Examiner.

PhilHealth also recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine Information Agency for widest “Konsulta” promotion.

“PhilHealth’s Konsulta Package is the answer to persisting health conditions and emerging diseases that could possibly lead to financial exhaustion should they be left unattended,” said PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel R. Ledesma, Jr. during the signing ceremony.

The partnership is in support of the government’s drive to strengthen the delivery of primary care to the people under the thrust “Pinalawak at mga Bagong Benepisyo para sa Mamamayang Filipino.” (Mindanao Examiner)
