ACMOBILITY, THE official BYD distributor in the Philippines, targets to end the year with 22 dealership networks nationwide to fast-track the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country.
In a statement Wednesday, ACMobility said it has secured 11 new dealership deals for BYD to open sales networks in major cities and provinces such as Alabang, Cagayan De Oro, Cavite, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, Lipa, Marikina, Naga, Pampanga, and Sta. Rosa.
To date, BYD has four dealership networks in Quezon City, Makati, BGC Taguig, and Cebu.
“ACMobility and BYD Cars Philippines are excited to welcome our new dealer partners in the growing BYD network,” the firm’s automotive retail and distribution head Antonio Zara III said.
“By the end of the year, we will have at least 22 BYD dealerships nationwide with more locations soon to be announced. We will grow BYD with the ultimate vision of accelerating the electrification of the automotive industry,” he said.
He said apart from the four operating distribution networks and 11 appointed dealerships, seven BYD dealership networks are under construction.
ACMobility is also increasing the number of charging infrastructure throughout the country to support the adoption of more EVS, adding to its current 48 charging stations in 23 locations.
“This ongoing expansion is not just about numbers; it's about the people behind them. It's about the passion, dedication, and shared commitment to driving positive change in our communities. Together, we are expanding our sales reach and amplifying our impact on sustainable mobility,” BYD Cars Philippines after sales and network director Errol Dueñas said.
Last year, Ayala Corp.’s unit AC Motors announced its partnership with Shenzhen-based EV automotive manufacturer to start its shift to EVs in the Philippines. (Kris Crismundo)
