LOW-COST airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) on Friday advised its passengers of possible delays as it is experiencing technical issues reportedly due to a global Microsoft system outage.
In an advisory posted on its Facebook page past 3 p.m., the CEB said it is experiencing technical issues "reportedly related to technology provider CrowdStrike, which caused a global Microsoft system outage."
This resulted in handling affected processes manually, potentially causing delays, the Gokongwei-led carrier said.
"We are working closely with our teams to mitigate disruptions to our operations and will provide regular updates as the situation progresses," it added.
Other aviation stakeholders also reported the effect of the information technology systems issue in their operations.
Changi Airport in Singapore posted Friday that some airlines have been processing the check-in procedures manually.
Sydney Airport in Australia also advised of possible delays through the evening due to the technical issue's impact on some airline operations.
According to reports, technology giant Microsoft experienced technical issues late Thursday, and reported that cloud services have been restored Friday. (Ma. Cristina Arayata)
