TNT TROPANG Giga dominated Phoenix Fuel Masters 106-70 in their PBA Commissioner's Cup matchup on the first game last Friday January 24, 2025. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Cebuano Homegrown from Talisay City Cebu Roger Pogoy added 12 points and was hailed as the Best Player of The Game .
TNT's hot shooting and solid defense allowed them to pull away in the second quarter, outscoring Phoenix 25-14 to establish a 49-35 halftime lead. The Tropang Giga's lead continued to grow in the second half, reaching as high as 40 points.
Tyler Tio led Phoenix with 14 points, while Donovan Smith and Kai Ballungay added 11 points each. The loss concluded Phoenix's campaign with a 3-9 record.
The win improved TNT's record to 7-3, securing their spot in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile in the Main Event of that nightcap San Miguel Beermen edged out Converge FiberXers 116-113 in their PBA Commissioner's Cup matchup .The Beermen dominated early, taking a 29-16 lead in the first quarter and maintaining a significant advantage throughout the game.
Malik Pope led San Miguel with 22 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks, while Juami Tiongson added 22 points on six three-pointers and was hailed as the Best Player of The Game . June Mar Fajardo chipped in with 19 points and 14 rebounds.
Converge, meanwhile, was paced by Cheick Diallo's 28 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Heading scored 25 points, including two four-point shots and four triples.
