PCSO secures level 2 certification from int'l lottery body

THE PHILIPPINE Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has secured level 2 certification for responsible gaming from the World Lottery Association.

With the new certification, the PCSO has joined an elite group of lottery operations in the whole world distinguished for their commitment to responsible gaming practices.

The certification was issued after an assessment of an independent panel that looked into the PCSO’s program in gaming, while raising funds for other sectors like health and welfare, the state lottery agency said in a news release Friday.

The assessment also looked into the PCSO’s measures to ensure that no underage individuals are involved in the game, and the office’s efforts to avoid gaming-related risks and inform the public about responsible gaming.

“Achieving the WLA Level 2 Certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to balancing revenue generation for charitable causes with the promotion of responsible gaming,” PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said.

“It highlights PCSO’s dedication to safeguarding the interests of players, stakeholders, and the communities we serve,” he added.

Robles said the PCSO’s new category will enhance their capability to raise more funds that will support important sectors and to help more with disaster response and providing livelihood programs for Filipinos.

“Looking ahead, the PCSO is dedicated to continuously enhancing its responsible gaming framework to achieve higher levels of WLA certification while fostering trust, transparency, and accountability among its stakeholders,” Robles said. (Christopher Lloyd Caliwan)
