2 soldiers killed in bomb attack in Southern Philippines

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two government soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing Friday in the restive Muslim province of Basilan in the autonomous region in southern Philippines, officials said.
Officials said the soldiers were guarding a road frequently used by the military in transporting troops and equipment when the bomb went off and killing them instantly.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the latest attack, but officials said the Abu Sayyaf rebels could be behind the bombing.
Just recently, one soldier was also killed in a bomb explosion in Basilan, one of five provinces under the Muslim autonomous region. (Mindanao Examiner)
