LANAO DEL SUR - A total of 100 families displaced by war in Marawi City two years ago will now have their own starter after Governor Mujiv Hataman, of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), officially turned over Tuesday a housing project in the town of Saguiaran here.
The P300-million project at Barangay Pagalamatan is under the ARMM Bangsamoro Regional Inclusive Development for Growth and Empowerment, which began in September last year.
Hataman said the government assures the welfare of all the individuals affected by the 2017 Marawi Siege.
He also recognized the help provided by Pagalamatan Barangay chairman Wahab Pangcoga, who donated four-hectare parcel of land on which to build 100 houses.
"Pinabilisan talaga natin ang pag-construct para makalipat na iyung mga pamilyang nakatira sa evacuation centers," David Ali, ARMM BRIDGE project manager said, noting that they prioritized families from the city's ground zero.
Besides the houses, the beneficiaries will also receive food supplies and assistance through livelihood programs. And for Solaiman Macarambong, one of the 64 evacuee families staying in the Saguiaran evacuation center for two years, said that the project is a big help and thanked Hataman for the house.
