AFP mobile kitchen distributes 2K hot meals in Pasig village

ARMED FORCES  of the Philippines (AFP) chief-of-staff, Gen. Felimon T. Santos Jr. on Thursday personally supervised the preparation and distribution of hot meals for beneficiary families in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

In a statement, Navy Captain Jonathan Zata, military public affairs office chief, said the AFP mobile kitchen tagged as “Vessels of Blessings” were able to produce and distribute over 2,000 meals during its seventh leg of operation.
The activity is under the “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” campaign spearheaded by the Civil Relations Service under Maj. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr. who was also present during the event.
Zata said culinary-trained soldiers, together with partner volunteers and support personnel, were deployed on board the mobile kitchens to prepare and distribute meals to designated drop-off points.
The operation of the AFP mobile kitchen is in support of the overall government effort to assist families and individuals during the enhanced community quarantine, following the call that "no Filipino will be left behind in this battle against (the coronavirus disease 2019) Covid-19”.
Santos also met with Barangay Pinagbuhatan chair Maricar Asilo Vivero and expressed the AFP's sustained support to assist similar communities especially during these trying times.
He also thanked the volunteers and partners from Rotary Club 3780, United Off-Roaders, and many other groups and individuals for participating in the activity.
“The AFP is your partner and together we will heal as one,” Santos added.
The mobile kitchen will be at Barangay Pinagbuhatan for another day before relocating to another community in ParaƱaque City.
Previously, the AFP mobile kitchen was deployed in Quezon City, San Juan, Malabon, Marikina, and Manila and was able to distribute almost 1,500 hot meals each day of operations
