PH 'deeply concerned' over NoKor's missile test

THE PHILIPPINE government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), has expressed "deep concern" over North Korea's latest ballistic missile test, saying these actions "undermine" regional peace and stability.

"The Philippines expresses deep concern over DPRK’s latest ballistic missile launch on 25 March 2021. Such actions seriously undermine regional peace and stability not only in the Korean Peninsula, but also in the entire region," the DFA said in a statement posted on its website.

"We reiterate our call on the DPRK to comply with its international obligations under relevant UN Security Council resolutions and commit to the process of constructive dialogue," it added.

South Korea-based Yonhap News Agency said North Korea carried out ballistic missile launches last March 25, which came days after it fired two cruise missiles into the Yellow Sea.

It reported that two short-range missiles were fired into the East Sea from the North's eastern town of Hamju, the first of such test in about a year. North Korea fired a ballistic missile last March 2020 (Joyce Ann L. Rocamora).
