PAGADIAN CITY – Philippine authorities have arrested a British national on Tuesday for allegedly operating an online pornography site in Pagadian City in the southern province of Zamboanga del Sur.
The Briton, Peter William Cannel, was arrested after police agents raided his rented apartment in Rosario Homes Subdivision in Dao village. Police also seized a shotgun and a pistol, including ammunition, and dildos from Cannel’s apartment, according to Chief Inspector Arnold Ventura, head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
Ventura said the foreigner was arrested following several complaints from the parents of Cannel’s victims.
“Cannel is facing criminal charges for violating Philippine laws on anti-child pornography and illegal possession of firearms, among others,” the police officer told the regional newspaper Mindanao Examiner.
The CIDG has urged other victims to come forward and file charges against Cannel, who is being investigated by authorities in Pagadian City. (E. Dumaboc)
