KIDAPAWAN CITY – At least 2 dozen people were
injured after a provincial bus overshot the highway and landed on its side before
dawn Friday in Kidapawan City in North Cotabato province in the southern
Philippines, police said.
Police said among the injured were the driver,
Jaypee Jose, 36; and his ticket conductor, Yasser Abe, 49. The bus, operated by
Mindanao Star, came from Davao City when the mishap occurred, according to
police spokesman Lt. Col. Bernard Tayong.
He said they were investigating the accident. The
driver told police that he lost control of the wheel due to the slippery road
caused by continuous rains.

injured.
Just this week, a couple was

rammed by another motorcycle from behind and crashed in Makilala town in North
Cotabato.
Police said Rogen Fernandez, 26, and his wife
Stephanie, 28, were both killed in the mishap. The girl survived, but is badly
injured and recuperating in the hospital.
The family was on their way to Kidapawan City when
the accident occurred. The driver of the other motorcycle fled after the mishap
late Wednesday and is being hunted down by the police. (Rhoderick Beñez)
