KIDAPAWAN CITY – Motorcycle gunmen shot dead a village chieftain in a daring
attack in downtown Polomolok in South Cotabato province, police said Thursday.
Police said Abdullah Nilong, chairman
of Lapu village was gunned down by an armed assailant wearing a motorcycle
helmet just after stepping out of a pharmacy along Miranda Street.
Nilong was shot several times and
died on the spot. His attacker fled from the scene after shooting the official.
The motive of the killing is still unknown, but police have begun an
investigation into the murder.
His family did not speak to
