KIDAPAWAN CITY – A team from the Philippine
Bank of Communications (PBCom) recently visited a community in Makilala town in
North Cotabato province in Mindanao where it handed over temporary learning
shelters it helped build.
The team was welcomed by students, faculty and staffs of the Luayon National High
School led by its school principal Arnel Manuel. They all thanked PBCom and all
those behind the “Donate Joy and Make a Difference
2019” project which began late last year.
The entire PBCOM family launched a fundraising
project dubbed “Donate Joy and Make a Difference 2019” to help families
affected by the series of earthquakes that hit North Cotabato.

The project was met with overwhelming
support and PBCom allocated a portion of the proceeds to the community of
Makilala to help Luayon National High School in building the temporary learning
shelters for the students whose classrooms were heavily damaged by the quake.
With the help of PBCOM Mindanao team
led by Aaron Luy (Mindanao Area Head) and supported heavily by Julio Chiong
(Branch Banking Group), Christopher Uy (Branch Banking Group), Don Ngoho (Legal
Services Group), Nilo Culaba (Consumer Finance Group) and Florian Angco (Consumer
Finance Group), they were able to successfully coordinate the construction of
the shelters and the purchase of chairs and tables. (With additional report
from Rhoderick Beñez.)
