CAMIGUIN - The province of Camiguin along with its five towns - Catarman, Guinsiliban, Mahinog, Mambajao, and Sagay – are among the passers of the 2019 Seal Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) from Northern Mindanao.
In the entire region, only 19 towns from Lanao del Norte, 13 towns from Misamis Occidental, and 23 towns from Misamis Oriental made it to the list.
Recipients of the seal are eligible to access the Performance Challenge Fund, a support fund to finance local development initiatives in the advancement of national government goals and strategic thrusts.
SGFH aims to recognize local governments that give importance to the principles of performance, accountability, transparency, and participation. Such principles are essential in building the long term foundation of a responsible local government system in the country. (Marc Ian A. Salem)
