PCSO resumes STL ops in Ilocos Norte, Nueva Vizcaya

SMALL TOWN  lottery (STL) operations are now allowed to resume in the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Ilocos Norte starting Wednesday.

“The public is hereby informed that effective September 16, 2020, the Small Town Lottery (STL) operations will resume in the following areas only: 1. Province of Ilocos Norte: Lucky Pick Amusement & Development, Inc.; 2. Nueva Vizcaya: King’s 810 Gaming Corporation,” Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Royina Garma said in an advisory.

Garma also reminded the health and safety protocols by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), concerned local government units (LGUs) and the PCSO shall be followed to avoid the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

She said STL operations would be suspended automatically if these places are declared under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) or modified ECQ.

She added that all STL areas not mentioned would remain suspended.

Garma urged the public to patronize PCSO games to generate more funds to be used to assist Filipinos.

The PCSO serves as the principal government agency for raising and providing funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities of national character.

One of its key programs is the Medical Access Program (MAP) which is designed to augment the medical needs of the Filipinos nationwide, particularly the need for hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines.

The program is funded by revenues from PCSO games nationwide. (By Christopher Lloyd Caliwan)
