TEN COVID-19 frontliners in Zamboanga City have received a bicycle as part of the “Buy-A-Bike” program of the “Pilipinas in Action,” a movement initiated by Senator Pia Cayetano.

Mayor Beng Climaco facilitated the turnover of the bicycles to the frontliners from various government offices. She said each bicycle comes with a helmet and other accessories.
“Este bicicletas el passion del Senadora Pia Cayetano. Ta dale le con ustedes (frontliners) este tiempo para puede ayuda na di ustedes servicio como na frontera,” Climaco told the beneficiaries of the program during the turnover.
Climaco was assisted by City Administrator Apple Go, City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Miravite and General Services Officer Engr. Rene dela Cruz.
Those who received the bicycles thanked Cayetano and Climaco. The mayor praised Cayetano for her humanitarian efforts and assistance to frontliners. “En representacion del gobierno local de Zamboanga, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Senadora Pia Cayetano for the services of Pilipinas in Action,” Climaco said.
The Buy-A-Bike program aims to serve those in the frontlines and through Pilipinas in Action, Cayetano seeks pledges for the purchase of bicycles. “Serving in the frontlines means long hours of walk for most of our health workers and front liners. To keep them safe and healthy, Pilipinas in Action launches Buy-A-Bike!” she said, adding, anyone can pledge from P500 up to P4,000. (Zamboanga Post)
