27th Sunday Ordinary Time
Reflecting on
the Second Reading, Philippians 4:6-7 : “Have no anxiety at all, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known
to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your
hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
It was the feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus and
I surrendered to God the anxiety and uncertainty of every swab test. After
breakfast, I got the email: NEGATIVE! Gracias a Dios! Covid is dangerous that
even US President Donald Trump and the First Lady were not spared.
We are called to be stewards of God’s vineyard to be
responsible for ourselves and our families. As I make this, I am aware of the
loss of lives and struggle of friends with Covid. May we take God’s call to
care for each other and value life.
Earlier on, we had to make sure safety protocols and
social distancing are in place at Fort Pilar. In this time of pandemic, our
fiesta activities are limited to virtual replays and even our worship is with
restrictions. Let us live out our duty to make sure we abide by Covid protocols
and security measures to keep our loved ones and Zamboanga safe. Tiene Cuidao.
