1 Cor 7:32-35

“Brothers and sisters: I should like you to be free of anxieties.” 

THE PANDEMIC lockdowns have created sadness and increased people’s anxiety for loss of job, livelihood, face to face encounter, freedom from mobility and the loss of lives. It is very difficult as children are also affected because of the need to finish their learning modules. Seeing the anxiety of pupils and parents, I wrote to Sec. Leonor Briones, of the Department of Education, to review the system to ease the burden on pupils and parents. We all need a venue to release our tensions to be in a comfort zone in navigating this pandemic. 

1 Cor 7:35

 “I am telling you this for your own benefit, not to impose a restraint upon you, but for the sake of propriety and adherence to the Lord without distraction.” 

Here I am reminded to keep my eyes focused on the task at hand and my mission to serve till the end of my term. I thank God for the SOCA, the accomplishments of every Department and individuals who contributed. Christian Olasiman and team had a longer version, but I trimmed it down to the minimum yet it still ran for two hours more. I am reminded not to focus on the noisy detractors. They will always be with the destruction they bring. I chose to care, I chose kindness and compassion just like the Dalai Lama but supremely, Jesus’ Law of Love. I rally everyone to unite and work since people expect no less. 

Mk 1:21-28

 “The people were astonished at His teaching, for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.” 

The Gospel narrates the Authority of Jesus which commanded the cleansing of the unclean. Na deaton vida, we too seek healing from Jesus para libra y limpia canaton na todo mal. As we navigate the Covid pandemic and the challenges it brings, we pray for healing as we submit to God’s authority in our lives. Señor Dios cuida canamon y limpia di amon vida por tu amor! (MBC)
