Private institutions, companies offer facilities as vaccination sites

MAYOR BENG Climaco praised several private institutions and companies that offered their facilities to serve as vaccination centers in support of the local government’s mass vaccination rollout.

She said a team from the City Health Office led by its head nurse, Cora Pagotaisidro, already inspected at least 5 areas so they can evaluate and assess their capability as vaccination sites.

Local malls are also now being used as vaccination sites after its owners offered it to the Climaco administration in an effort to help in the mass vaccination program of the local government.

Climaco said the Department of Health (DOH) on June 15 delivered some 31,500 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines and 28,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines, and further boosting the local government’s mass vaccination program.

“The Pfizer vaccines will be solely deployed to Zamboanga City and will cover the first and second doses of at least 17,500 people and the Sinovac will be distributed to the different municipalities and provinces in Zamboanga Peninsula,” the mayor said.

Climaco thanked President Rodrigo Duterte and the DOH, and the national government’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases for prioritizing Zamboanga City in the allocation of vaccines.

The mayor said she wants all tricycle and jeepney drivers, essential workers and local uniformed personnel included in the mass vaccination program under the A4 Covid-19 priority list so they can be protected from the deadly respiratory disease. (Zamboanga Post)
