‘The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity’
“Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; to God who is, who was, and who is to come.”
Deuteronomy 4:32-34, 39-40 and Psalm 33:4-5, 6, 9, 18-19, 20, 22
Romans 8:14-17 and Matthew 28:16-20
Today is a most important feast. Jesus commands his Apostles: “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
We are called by Jesus to go and work to fulfil His mission. With more than 2,400 active cases and 392 deaths, God tells me to continue with healing the sick and feeding the hungry. Isolation facilities are needed to separate the Covid positive. We have to meet the need of our neighbour and a minister to the sick. There are big gaps, lapses, and areas that are needed to Protect, Detect, Isolate, and Treat and do Reintegration.
These have to be acted with urgency in a cohesive system. Basic testing needs to have immediate result. Tracing has to be confined to first generation contacts. Treatment should free-up hospitals to focus on the severe and the City takes care of the mild to moderate patients. Santisima Trinidad dale el guia y claridad responde con amor, fe y compassion na todo que necesita hace compli tu mission. Por amor del di aton familia, coopera y disciplina el caminada y usada propio de face mask, face shield, sanitizer y physical distancing.
Despite the repetitive appeals, these fall on insensitive, deaf ears of 300 violators daily. At times I am at a lost on what needs to be done. It takes one self to stand up and commit to comply por amor de familia. If we can do this as a Family and as a community, our Barangays and City will be able to Heal the Sick and people’s livelihoods will be realized with vaccination to protect our loved ones.
I do not have the secret formula to get people’s cooperation. But one thing is for sure, I will continue to work in faith even in times I felt discouraged. People may step on us, be cruel and unkind. Such is human nature. I “catch the gaze of Jesus” as Sr. Agnes taught me. And pray “Mary, show yourself as true mother to Zamboanga City!” Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen! (MBC)
