OVER 200 fire victims in Southcom Village in Barangay Upper Calarian received food packs, hygiene kits and blankets and mats, among other items, from the local government headed by Mayor Beng Climaco.
Climaco together with Socorro Rojas, chief of the City Health Office and other social workers, were assisted by barangay officials and Rep. Jawo Jimenez and Councilors Pinpin Pareja and El King Omaga in the distribution of aid at the Southcom Elementary School which was used as temporary evacuation center.
The fire broke out at a neighborhood in Camella Drive and razed at least 95 houses. The Bureau of Fire said it is investigating the cause of the blaze. The fire victims thanked Climaco and the local government, including barangay officials for helping them. (Zamboanga Post)
