Covid vaccination, puwersahan na!

MULING INULIT ng Pangulong Duterte ang banta nitong ipakukulong ang mga taong ayaw magpabakuna kontra Covid-19 at pinagbibitiw rin nito maging ang mga kawani ng gobyerno na ayaw magpabakuna.

'Duterte, gagamit ng police power'

Ipinaliwanag rin ni Duterte ang kahalagahan ng bakuna sa bawa’t-isa, lalo na ngayong may Delta variant. Hindi rin umano nito pinanghihimasukan ang anumang relihiyon, pananampalaya o Simbahan upang puwersahin ang mga taong magpabakuna.

 

“Ngayon, sa ordinaryong mga araw hindi naman nakikialam ang gobyerno ni minsan. Government has no power to compel any religion, faith or church to do a certain thing or not to do a certain thing. We can only cooperate. But itong police power of the state na hahawain mo kapwa tao mo patayin mo and maybe it would affect a large number of our people, then you are already a danger to society. And therefore I said, contrary to the belief or opinion of others, I - opinion ko lang ‘yan - can compel you under the police power of the state.”

 

“Tama ‘yan sa gobyerno, ayaw mo magpabakuna, umalis ka. Go out of government. Why? Because when you are with the government you face people, people transact business officials, well, audiences or visits. Eh kung ikaw ang carrier, ‘wag mong sabihin na ang relihiyon mo o ayaw ng aming paniwala o I just don’t believe it. Well, I’m sorry ‘yung ganoon, it is completely irrelevant to us in government. Mabuti’t magkaintindihan tayo niyan. Because if everybody does not comply with the vaccines and we can have a widespread, wildfire spread, then the police must go in and intervene in your private life so that you cannot be a danger to society,” wika ni Duterte.

 

Sinabi ni Duterte na umabot na sa 20 milyong Pilipino na ang fully vaccinated at katumbas nito ay 26% ng populasyon ng bansa.

 

“Now, how would do I encourage everybody to vaccination? With these welcome developments in our Covid-19 numbers, I now encourage you, those who have yet to receive the vaccines to get inoculated. Paulit-ulit kasi ‘to. We are almost pleading down on our knees, parang nakaluhod na kami nakikiusap sa taong-bayan ‘yung mga taong ayaw o hindi pa nagpabakuna at nandiyan naman ang available,” ani ng Pangulo.

 

Inalmahan agad ni Senador Ping Lacson ang pahayag ni Duterte.

 

“Instead of forcing vaccines on people, why not make them force themselves to get inoculated? A policy of allowing only fully vaccinated customers to eat indoors, while limiting the unvaccinated to Al Fresco dining is an example. But first, make vaccines available to all,” ani Lacson sa kanyang tweet.

 

Sinabi pa nito na dapat pagtuunan ng pamahalaan ang karapatan ng bawa’t-isa. “This win-win approach would help both public health and the economy, while respecting the individual rights of citizens to their bodies, and the rights of other citizens to be protected from getting infected. We're facing a pandemic. How can we get out of the pandemic without taking the needed preventive measures?” tanong pa nito.

 

Nitong Hunyo lamang, sinabi ni Duterte na ipakukulong nito ang lahat ng mga ayaw magpa-bakuna at sinabing tuturukan pa nito ng Ivermectin ang mga mahuhuli.

Tinawag pang “yawa” at minura ni Duterte ang mga ayaw magpa-bakuna at sinabing uutusan nito ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) upang mandohan ang mga barangay officials na kunin ang mga pangalan ng mga residenteng tumatanggi sa Covid-19 vaccine.

“Kayong mga barangay captains, I will task the DILG to do that, to look for these persons and kung hindi, I will order their arrest, sa totoo lang. Why? Because if you are a person na hindi ka vaccinated, you are a carrier, a potential carrier (of Covid-19) and to protect the people, I have to sequester you in jail.  Mamili kayo: magpabakuna kayo o ipakulong ko kayo sa selda? Sabi ko sa iyo ‘yong selda diyan sa mga pulis, walang linis ‘yan, eh tamad ‘yang pulis maglinis. Nandoon ang lahat, lahat na ng baho nandoon. Doon kayo. Ganito na lang, I will think it over very hard, legally, of course. Pero ‘pag hindi, ayaw ninyo, ipaaresto ko kayo. That is in pursuance of a policy of our crisis of itong health issue,” ani Duterte.

“Iyang mga yawa na 'yan na ayaw magpabakuna. Itong mga gago na ayaw magpa-bakuna, and they are really the carriers. If you are, they can, you know, travel from one place to another, carrying the virus and then contaminating other people. Ito ‘yong ayaw magpabakuna. Kayong ayaw magpabakuna, ipabakuna ko ‘yong itong sa bakuna ng baboy, ‘yong Ivermectin. Iyon ang ibakuna ko sa kanila. Ang tigas ng ulo eh. Kaya don’t get me wrong. There is a crisis being faced in this country. There is a national emergency. Kung ayaw mong magpabakuna, ipaaresto kita,” dagdag pa nito.

Sinabi nito na ituturok niya ang Ivermectin sa puwet ng mga ayaw magpa-bakuna.

“Itusok ko sa puwet mo. Putang ina, bwiset kayo. Eh, hirap na nga tayo tapos nandiyan pa kayo napakaraming dag… So kung lahat ng Pilipinong nakikinig ngayon, bantay kayo. Don’t force my hand into it, kagaya nitong ano. Strong-arm method ‘yan eh. Walang may gusto niyan. Pero kung hindi kayo magpabakuna, umalis kayo sa Pilipinas. Go to India if you want or somewhere, to America. But for as long as you are here and you are a human being, and can carry the virus, eh magpabakuna ka,” wika pa nito.

Matatandaang sinabi noon ni Duterte sa mga namimili ng brand ng Covid-19 vaccines na kung ayaw nila ng Sinovac ng China ay huwag na silang magpa-bakuna. Karamihan sa mga Pilipino ay ayaw sa Chinese vaccines dahil umano sa mababang efficacy rate nito at iba pang kadahilanan. Sa Wuhan, China nagmula ang Covid-19 virus noong Disyembre 2019 at kumalat ito sa buong mundo. (Mindanao Examiner)
