EASTER SUNDAY, the Resurrection of the Lord. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad! My heart rejoices jubilantly for Jesus our Savior has Risen! Fr. Jomel Manalo exhorts: “Jesus won His battle victoriously! Jesus fought a good fight!”
We are called to forgive as Jesus did. The Paschal Tridum and Lenten Journey was a road to purify and cleanse my life and renew my commitment to carry my cross from Calvary to Victory. The strength I gained from all the burden and multiple problems seem to be very heavy and difficult to carry.
The strength is Jesus! Like the Apostles who followed Jesus, some denied and betrayed him in the end. I have experienced a difficult and painful ascent in carrying my cross. The strength I gained was realizing that my burdens are minimal and minuscule compared to the suffering Jesus bore because of His great love to save us.
I realized that Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, who were followers of Jesus, hid in the darkness for fear of authorities. Ironically, when Jesus died, they gained courage to claim the body of Jesus. They have traversed from darkness to light, points mentioned in Fr. Johnny Go's online retreat.
As we face a new beginning, we rejoice with Mary our Mother. The future is unsure but the YES to Jesus will be the strength we have with a joyful heart! FORGIVENESS IS FOR THE BRAVE OF HEART!
