CEBU CITY – Two graduates from the University of San Carlos (USC) here emerged as the 1st and 10th placers in the Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination held this year.
Richmond Pepito bested other examinees after getting the highest rating of 86.90% for the licensure examination for chemical engineers. Another alumnus of USC, Reinell Guevarra, is listed as the 10th placer after he scored 84.20%.

Montesa, a Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila graduate, got 2nd
place.
Four of the
topnotchers - Angelica Jao (3rd placer), Kobi Christian Go (6th placer), Maria
Andrea Lisa Umali (8th placer), and Sabrina Nicole Blanco (9th placer) - were
from the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman in Quezon City.
Two graduates from
the De La Salle University in Manila – Christelle Paula Batac and John Vincent
Jose – placed 4th and 7th, respectively. UP-Los Baños graduate Nomer Mendoza
landed 5th place.
The Professional
Regulations Commission said that 585 of 1,032 examinees passed the examination.
The graduates who participated in the examination were from Manila, Baguio,
Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Legazpi.
UP-Diliman, USC,
UP-Los Baños, DLSU-Manila, and UP-Visayas in Iloilo City ranked respectively on
having the most number of examinees reaching at least 80% in the passing
