OVER 220 families affected by a series of fires here received financial assistance from the local government in an effort to help alleviate their plight.
Mayor Beng Climaco, who led the distribution of cash aid, said a total of P922,500 was released to the victims of fire which occurred during the first three months of this year in the villages of San Roque, Tetuan, Labuan and Patalon.
She said the aid was part of the local government’s continuous social welfare services and facilitated the City Social Welfare and Development Office. The distribution of financial help was held at City Hall.
Those
who received the assistance thanked and praised Climaco who continues to work
hard despite her losing in the recent election. They said Climaco’s eagerness
to help and her concern for the welfare of the fire victims speaks of her
