ILIGAN CITY – A series of powerful explosions rocked an army base in Cagayan de Oro City shortly before dawn Tuesday but there were no immediate reports of casualties.
The blasts occurred at the arsenal of the 4th
Infantry Division and this was followed by a huge fire. Security officials were
not immediately available to make a statement.
It was unclear what triggered the explosions, but the blasts
shook residential and commercial areas around the base.
Troops were immediately deployed around the camp to prevent kibitzers taking photos and videos from entering the restricted base. (Mindanao Examiner)
