De Leon said their popular products are safe for weight watchers and even people with heart conditions, and also reduces the risk of Diabetes. She said a teaspoon of Stevia is equivalent to six teaspoons of sugar, thus, the perfect choice for those who are conscious about their sugar intake, but dislike the taste of chemical-based sugar substitutes.
She said Stevia is known as a natural sweetener derived from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana, a plant species in the genus Stevia of the family Asteraceae. It is commonly known as candyleaf, sweetleaf or sugarleaf.
Stevia is often touted as a safe and healthy sugar substitute that can sweeten up foods without the negative health effects linked to refined sugar. It is also associated with several impressive health benefits, such as reduced calorie intake, blood sugar levels, and risk of cavities, according to De Leon.
“It is 300 times sweeter than sugar, but it has zero calories and does not cause spikes in blood sugar levels. Furthermore, it does not have any aftertaste or carries potential health risks,” she said.
De Leon also said that the Glorious Premium 3in 1 Coffee Mix is a delicious coffee blend
sweetened with Sweet & Fit Stevia and is recommended for people with sugar
intake related concerns, weight watchers, and other health-conscious
individuals.
“Our Sweet & Fit Stevia has zero calories, zero fat, zero sodium, zero carbohydrates
and zero cholesterol,” she said.
Aside from the Glorious Premium 3in 1 Coffee Mix that coffee lovers enjoy, the company also 4in1 Malunggay-based coffee; 5in1 Coffee Mix with Brown Rice; and the 7in1 Coffee Mix with Malunggay, Mangosteen, Calcium, Goto Kola, and 7in 1 Choco Mix; sweetened with Sweet & Fit Stevia, according to De Leon.
She said Glorious also has a line-up of fruit flavored teas which are not only aromatic, but healthy too. People with sugar-related concern can enjoy their favorite Glorious iced tea mixes with Sweet & Fit Stevia in Red Berries, Lemon and Cucumber flavors. It is also perfect as milk tea and shakes – drink it hot or cold or topped with non-dairy milk or fresh fruits for a healthy beverage.
De Leon said GIDC is not only big on their drinks, but the company also has a corporate social responsibility that exceeds many boundaries. “We support our local farmers and workers because all of our products are grown and manufactured here. The market’s continued support sends their children to school and improves the quality of their lives,” she said.
She said GIDC also has over two dozen scholars as part of its social advocacy and programs which continue to support deserving students. (Richard Ebona)
