Enrile’s ex-chief info officer takes oath as deputy legal counsel

LAWYER JOSEPH  Sagandoy has taken his oath as deputy presidential legal counsel of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Marcos administered Sagandoy’s oath on Tuesday as shown in a video of the ceremony posted in the official Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) Facebook page.

“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., together with Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Secretary Juan Ponce Enrile, administers the oath of office to Atty. Joseph Sagandoy as Deputy Presidential Legal Counsel in a ceremony at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace on August 2, 2022,” the RTVM said.

Sagandoy received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines in 1997 and his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the same university in 1992.

He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1997.

He is also Enrile’s lawyer and former chief information officer and secretary of Uniwide Holdings, Inc.

Lawyers Marforth Fua, Rogel Gatchalian, Hubert Dominic Guevara, James Jayson Jorvina, and Edwardson Ong also took their oath as assistant presidential legal counsels.

Farewell call

On the same day, Marcos received outgoing Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Philippines Jorge Moragas Sanchez, during a farewell call at the Music Room in Malacañan Palace.

Moragas, who is half-Filipino, began his diplomatic post in the country in 2018.

Before his appointment, he served as Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Spain from 2011 to 2017.

Also present during the farewell call were Special Assistant to the President, Secretary Antonio Lagdameo Jr.; Presidential Management Staff Secretary Maria Zenaida Angping; Presidential Adviser on Foreign Affairs and Chief of Presidential Protocol, Secretary Adelio Angelito Cruz; and Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Jaime Victor Ledda. (Azer Parrocha)
