LANAO DEL SUR - To adequately and effectively address the health concerns of the Bangsamoro people, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s Committee on Health convened a public consultation on BTA Bill No. 123.
According to COH Committee Chair MP
Saffrullah Dipatuan, the bill proposes to establish a municipal hospital with
25 beds that will provide modern healthcare services and facilities to the
people of Butig and surrounding towns.
During the consultation, MP Maisara Dandamun-Latiph, main author of the bill, explained that the municipality of Butig is located in a remote part of Lanao del Sur, with limited access to healthcare and medical services.
If approved, the proposed municipal
hospital in Butig, will include emergency, outpatient, and domiciliary services.
As hospitals play a vital role in the healthcare system and development, MP
Latiph seeks the urgent approval of the bill.
Various sectors, such as Butig’s
barangay and local government unit, health, education, security, religious,
women, and youth participated in the said consultation. (LTAIS-Public
