DIPOLOG CITY - Three people, including a government militia, were injured following an explosion in Zamboanga del Norte's Labason town in southern Philippines, police said Saturday.
Police said the explosion occurred Friday afternoon, April 14, at outside the house of militiaman Diego Barnido in the village of Lawigan. The blast wounded the 29-year old Barnido and his companions Babor Barnido, 25; and Sabina Baylosis Barnido, 34.
"They were all injured and lying unconscious outside their residence following the explosion. The victims suffered multiple severe injuries believed to be the result of the explosion," Maj. Shellamie Chang, a regional police spokeswoman, said without further elaborating, adding, police were investigating the explosion.
It was unclear whether the explosion was an attack on the militia or accidental. No other details were made available either by the regional or municipal police. (Mindanao Examiner)
