ZAMBOANGA CITY – A civilian was killed and six others injured after a car crashed into a pile of street poles in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said Tuesday.
It said the driver of the car, Master Sergeant Roger dela Cruz, assigned with the Zamboanga City police Office, apparently fell asleep and crashed the vehicle on Monday afternoon, May 1, in the village of Muti.
His wife, Joy dela Cruz, did not reach the hospital alive. The others, including the driver, suffered various injuries from the deadly crash – three of them have been identified as Bhett dela Cruz, Joanne Mendoza, and Arica Carunajal.
