COTABATO CITY - If the proposed budget of the Ministry of Health (MOH) is approved, P6.65 billion would be allocated to health-related programs in the region.
The MOH has started presenting its
proposed budget before Subcommittee H of the Committee on Finance, Budget, and
Management, emphasizing programs aimed at enhancing access to promotional
health care services as well as curative and rehabilitation health care
services.
Nutrition, population, family
health, infectious illness, non-communicable disease, water and sanitation, and
mental health are just a few of the many areas that are addressed by these
programs.
In addition to program funding, the
proposed budget also includes substantial investment for the upgrade of health
care facilities across the region.
The MOH's proposed budget places it
as the third-highest ministry of budget allocations in the proposed 2024
Bangsamoro Expenditure Program.
The subcommittee, chaired by Member
of Parliament Atty. Ubaida Pacasem, reviewed the proposed budget of the MOH.
