BASILAN PROVINCE - Two motorcycle gunmen shot dead an employee of a money transfer outlet and wounded his security guard in a broad daylight attack Tuesday in Lamitan City in the southern Muslim province of Basilan.
Police said Marc Jerick Bansalan, 33, was killed on the spot. His security detail, Nelson Rivero, 41, was rushed to hospital after their attackers escaped with their loot.
The victims were traveling on a motorcycle when the gunmen tailed them and opened fire at them in the village of Ubit around 12 noon.
Police did not say how much money was taken by the gunmen from Bansalan or the name of their firm as cops launched a manhunt in the province. (Mindanao Examiner)
